Flaschenpost nach 132 Jahren gefunden

Nach 132 Jahren ist an einem Strand in Australien eine von einem deutschen Schiff abgeschickte Flaschenpost gefunden worden. Von einer der ältesten Flaschenpostsendungen der Welt ist die Rede.

Die Flasche wurde nach Recherchen des Western Australia Museum in Perth von Bord des Forschungsschiffs „Paula“ im Juni 1886 in den Indischen Ozean geworfen. (Videoquelle: APTN)

Ross Anderson (Western Australia Museum): "Because of the fact it had so much information in ink on the note we were able to compare that directly with the „Paula“ journal and do a handwriting analysis of their meteorological journal and it’s exactly the same hand. So we think it’s the Captain Diekmann of the „Paula" who probably wrote on this message, put it in his little bottle, threw it overboard and also wrote in the journal that he had thrown the bottle overboard. So it’s quite stunning. I have never really experienced anything that corroborates so fully as this (...).“
